Spouse work permit

Hi there

Please advise if I can apply for my husband to get an open work permit when I apply for my study permit, or if this can only be done once I receive my study permit? Also, how long does it generally take to process a work permit for spouse for South African residents? Do you know the current application fee please?

He can apply for an open work permit - however there is no guarantee it will be approved. He can either apply at the same time you are applying for your study permit or he can apply after your study permit has been approved.
