Spouse Work permit

MY wife is US citizen.
I have applied for her PR , through sponsorship application. But i did not get any correspondance from CIC yet.
My wife currently holds a visit visa until May 2014. Currently she is in canada (Alberta)

Can my wife apply for an open work permit in canada. If yes then what forms do i need to fill.

IMM5710 forms, require either the employer name of the offer letter. I dont have either.

Can please someone guide me whether i can apply for her open work permit ot not.

Did you apply for your wife's PR using the inland or outland process?

INLAND, she applied from inside canada

Your wife will qualify for an open work permit once the inland application has first stage approval. First stage approval is currently taking around 11 months from the time the application is submitted.

Since you have already submitted the application, you should wait until you receive a letter informing you that the application has received first stage approval. Once you are notified, you can submit the open work permit application.
