My friend and her husband both are in Canada. My friend was on PGWP and her spouse on SOWP. My friend received portal 1. Her husband was not included in the PR application. However, her spouse's open work pert extension was rejected last week. His SOWP is expiring next month. How can he continue to work in Canada?
I suggested getting visitor record and travel back to home country then do a spousal sponsorship application while spouse is out-side canada. The processing time for this is 10 months.
The other option is spouse remains in Canada on visitor record and Spousal sponsorship is applied after which spouse open work permit can be applied and husband can continue to work. However, in-land spousal sponsorship applications are taking 28-29 months processing time.
What is the best way going ahead and what should we be careful of?
