Spouse Visa

Hello Everyone,

I've got admission in Centennial College for Jan '11 intake. I am married, I want my wife to accompny me.
When i consulted agents they kept saying that chances are thin if I apply with my wife.

Other details :
I've got loan, and enough cash to, to maintain both.

If ther is a provision for spouse, they ought to grant us both visa, if proper paper work are done, isnt it ?
Or any other alternative should i prefer ? Please guide.. Thanks in advance.

show strong ties to ur home country and sufficient funds... and try your LUCK... nothing is guaranteed, even if you apply as single .

i was in the same position as you were. things ddnt work out as planned.... sadly.. but c'est la vie !

Here are some of my opinions. I've done some intensive research and was guided and misguided by a lot of consultants too. so heres everything that i learnt !

1. Apply for the visa alone
a. this serves as ties to home country ( leaving wife at home country & hence stronger case)
b. this also provides more substance to the SOP that u're gonna come back.
2. apply together and the visa officer will know for sure that you guys are planning it long term and gonna stick around in Canada. - Chances for rejection.
3. Once you get ur visa, its better you travel alone and resist the temptation to apply a TRV for ur wife and then you travel together.
4. Once you are settled in canada, and a couple of months pass, then you invite your wife showing your canadian bank account with sufficient funds to support her. this stands a better chance of making the whole thing work.

ofcourse many ppl have got it right hte first time. but my strategy is to avoid risk of rejection. once you get rejected, then your subsequent attempts are weakened automatically.

I think, apply for my wife's visiotor visa, prior to filing student visa is a good idea...
She will get her visitors visa and I'll get my student visa.

then the purpose of visit has to be tourism or something... then it cant be a long period.
