Spouse VISA from India

Hi,

I am staying at Canada from past 3 year on work permit. Recently got married in India, now I am planning to take spouse to Canada.
Please let me know how much time it would take for spouse VISA. On website its shown as 30 days. But whats the realistic time for getting spouse VISA so that I can book tickets accordingly?
Also is there any faster way to get Spouse VISA?

DON’T book a ticket until your wife actually has a TRV in her passport. The forum is filed with posts about visa applications taking longer than expected or refused despite having flights booked. Never a good idea to book before the visa is in hand.
Canada does not have a spousal visa program, so they will be applying for a TRV. They will need to provide all the necessary documents and proof she is a visitor to Canada. Your spouse will likely have to provide a very strong application proving ties to the home country as you (the spouse) are in Canada and they may feel there is a risk of them overstaying.
Other than providing a complete and thorough application to streamline processing, there is no way to expedite a TRV.

Hi, Is TRV is same as spouse visa. As on cic website processing time is 12 months. I am in the same situation, so would highly appreciate if someone could advice how to get spouse visa asap(Except Tourist visa route).would be getting married coming month.

There is no 'Spouse visa'.

Your fiancée has two options:
1. Apply for a TRV/visitor visa, or

2. Apply for PR under 'Family Class Sponsorship (if you are a PR/citizen)
