Hello everyone,
I am currently living with my boyfriend (who has a valid study permit) and will be my common law partner this May (we are in Canada). I have applied for my permanent residency and im working using my post graduate work visa which expires in 2017.
i was wondering if there was a way for my partner to apply for a (spouse) work permit in may (when we are common law) or does he have to send his PR papers (having me as the principle applicant) before he applies for a work permit. he completed his studies a few years back but wasn't able to apply for a post graduate work visa because of the college he went to (im guessing there are some schools that are not supported by cic)
i understand this is a little bit complicated but im looking for a way for him to be able to work and change his study permit to something else
id really appreciate your help.
