You wait! We went 8 months with NO contact. You have to have patience through this process. They will reach out if they need anything.

Hi i have the same case but mine has been three months already . This is my timeline status.

  1. received application for permanent residence on March 7, 2018.
  2. We started processing the application on May 23, 2018.
  3. We sent medical instructions on April 24, 2018.
  4. Medical results have been received.
  5. We sent correspondence on May 7, 2018. If not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
We already passed the needed documents right away, and a week after, may 18,2018 cic emailed me that they already passed our application to VMO and until now VMO hasn’t updated us about our status. Its coming 3 months now since VMO received our application ☹

When they reached you after 8 months is the requesting for passport already ?

we waited 12 months and 5 days total. we went 8 months from background check starting to ppr with NO communication. three months is nothing at all compared to what others are waiting... you will have to wait this out as the rest of us do. you are WELL within your processing times. not much anyone can do to make things move and no one can say much about when to expect something. unfortunately in this process, we are at the mercy of the visa officer

I have been told that the reason why Background Checking is taking too long if the principal applicant have live for many different places as it would take time to confirm and do so and if the principal applicant is a government employee.I haven’t receive any ppr as well.
