Hello There,

I received this email on September, 16th,2010

Dear ..,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please note that your file is currently pending payment of the Right of Permanent Residence fees. An email has been sent today to CPC-Mississauga in order to collect the fees. Once your sponsor has paid the fees and evidence of payment is received at our office you may proceed with the submission of your passport by prepaid courier in order to finalize your file.

Regards,

Immigration Section

My Sponsor paid online and the receipt was sent as per the courier on September, 2oth 2010.
We didn't hear from the visa office until now.

Can anyone advise what is the next step? and for how long should I expect to wait for landing?
Is this considered to be as the last step or what?

Thanks a million for your help!

When it says "you may proceed with the submission of your passport" it sounds like they have already requested the passport from you once. If so, follow the guidelines to do that.

If they haven't sent you a letter for passport request yet, maybe they are still updating your file (the receipt) and will send you a passport request soon. Remember in the original application they said that they advised you to pay all the fees at once otherwise it might mean delays of several weeks in the future. I think this wait is the "delay" so everything is probably still OK.

I think you should just email the visa office and ask if they received your receipt from CPC-M yet.

Hello MissyIffy,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I didnt know that I should pay the visa fees at the begining I thought I paid for everything. They didn't ask me yet for the passport. I already emailes them with the receipt attached and my sponsor is following up with the CPC-M but still no news. My question is: Whenever they will ask for the passport, once submited, how long will it take to receive it ?
Cheers

According to the other people on the forum who have been through that stage, it can vary. Anything from 1 week to 4.

Which visa office are you dealing with? The processing times at different offices can vary greatly.

Take a look at other peoples profiles on this forum (especially those applying from Cairo). It'll say when their passports were requested and when they received their visas/landed in Canada.

You can check here for a posting specifically about passport requests at the Cairo office: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t48790.0.html Looks like on average it takes 2-6 weeks for your PP to be returned. There is really wide variability in processing times at different offices, so checking to see how long it took in another office will really not tell you anything. There are some offices that request the PP very early in the process and then keep it on file until they are ready to issue the visa whereas other offices request the PP when they are ready to issue the visa. Hope you get your visa soon. Good luck.
