Spouse sponsorship in progress and travel. What’s your experience at the border

Hi people. Is there any principal applicant that travel out of Canada while spouse common law application is still in progress.

What are your experience at the port of entry when coming back to Canada ?

I am currently on SOWP while my PR is not yet finalized . I want to apply for TRV .

do you think there would be any problem when coming back

You are an inland applicant, if you cannot re-enter Canada, your application will be abandoned.
If you do not have a TRV yet, it's not garantee approval of TRV.
Probably not a good idea to travel outside without TRV.

I have work permit. I want to apply for TRV , I thought that would work . The TRV is what I would use for Re entry

A work permit doesn't garantee TRV so you should get TRV before you head out. (IMO)

Also I am assuming this is a short trip. You are supposed to live with your spouse inside Canada during the process.
