Hi Folks,

I am Male Egyptian resides in Canada, NS with Permanent Residence status, I have married last year in Cairo, Egypt from my Egyptian wife. I am still living in Canada and she still reside in Cairo as I did not apply yet for her Sponsorship Application. I have some question if someone could give me the best answer before I submit my application.

1- On the website, it shows that the processing time is 19 months, is that the real processing time or it usually take less?

2- Can I apply for a Tourist Visa for her until the sponsorship application process? If so could she do her landing while she is in Canada?

3- Any recommendations on how to expedite her sponsorship application? or to bring her in Canada faster or during process? the thing is I cannot afford 19 months away.

IF any one who had sponsored his wife from Egypt to Canada, could just share what really he went through or how the whole process was.

Please looking for your advise and reply back.

Thanks in Advance.

1 - Usually the times are quicker. Read and ask in this thread dedicated to Cairo processing: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cairo-visa-office-t69666.4800.html

2 - Certainly she can apply for a TRV. But unless she can show very strong ties to Egypt that will convince a visa officer she will return there after TRV expires instead of staying in Canada with you (her strongest tie), there would be a high chance the TRV is rejected. This will have no effect on the PR app though.

3 - To get quickest processing, make sure the app is completed accurately, with medical done upfront and RPRF fee paid upfront. There is no way to expedite an app, or everyone would do it.
