Spouse Sponsorship Application Processing Time

Hello,

I am Pakistani Citizen and my Fiancee is Canadian Citizen currently living in Pakistan from last 5 years.

I want to ask few questions;

1. Am i eligible to apply for sponsorship after getting married with my Canadian Citizen Fiancee ?
2. Currently, what is the application processing time for Pakistani Applicants ?
3. Which Visa Office will deal with my application ?

You are eligible to sponsor even as common-law, but in my opinion, marriage is less of a hassle in terms of paperwork.

There are 2 parts you must consider. Your husband being approved will take around 57 days
and once it goes to Pakistan it can take up to 40 months.

They last updated it on May 20th.
Currently the processing time is 40 months in Pakistan, Islamabad.

1. Yes. Your sponsor will need to prove their intent to return to Canada.

2 and 3. Pakistani apps are no longer sent to Islamabad, so that 40 month processing time quoted by the above poster does NOT apply. The app will go to London and I believe Pakistani apps are taking around 12-18 months right now.
