Hi everyone,

Me and my husband are preparing supporting document for my husband’s PR application through the Spouse Sponsorship and wondering if our chatting log has to be certified translated into English? Can we translate them ourselves? The instant massage app we use do have inbeded translation functions and will show the English translation underneath the original sentence. Will this be suffice? We have asked the certified translator and their rate is just outrageous. We have lots of photos(us, with family and friends), from just everyday activities to formal events (engagement party, wedding, honeymoon). We have letters from friends and families, have combined banking, credit card, etc.

Any clarification would be appreciated!

I agree that this should suffice. You can also provide your own translation as well, which should be easy for CIC to verify if they feel the need to. We did not go overboard with our chat logs, we just sent 4 screenshots of conversations throughout our relationship.

Hi Wakki,
I submitted chat log with friends talking about our moving plan to prove our intent but I translated it. Will it be a problem?

no it wont be a problem.....its not mandatory to translate chat log but if you did its okay too.
