hi im new here in the forum..i have a problem..i just got my cpr last dec 23 2011 and my son came to canada with my co worker to land as immigrant last march 4 2012 we got our pr tru bc pnp as single or never married with dependent. i went home last to the philippines to marry the mother of my son..im planning to sponsored my spouse and now were on the first stage of completing the requirements..first to provide my print out c..the problem is i declare common law in canada revenue (cra) and my status when i apply as a permanent residence is single..i didnt declare my common law in the philippines because my salary is not enough to include the common law .whats the best option regarding my problem..do i need to continue my sponsorship . ive read some issues regarding misinterpretation leads to refusal ? please help..

Just because you indicated to CRA one status (under one definition and interpretation of the law) and a different one previously to CIC (under a different definition and interpretation of the law) does not automatically mean you have misrepresented yourself.

However, it certainly could raise doubts about how truthful you were in your original application.

My advice would be to find a good lawyer (which means don't pick one from the telephone book or the law society list, do some research and find one with experience in this type of area - interview several, talk to others, etc.) Then you can obtain competent guidance on your specific case.
