situation: i plan to marry my gf after i am done with PR formalities.

questions:

1. since she is in india, so i will apply as outland?..right?
2. i can start her application only after i receive my PR card...is that correct?
3. what is the usual timelines for outland app from india?

1. yes, if your wife will be in india when you send in the application, that is an outland application.

2. no, i don't think you need your pr card to apply. you should be able to use your COPR (landing document) to prove your PR status. the application checklist will confirm that.

3. i believe it's currently 8-10 months. IRCC's initiative is 12 months or less for all spousal applications.

short trips are ok, but as a PR yourself, you must maintain primary residency in Canada. this is listed in the Guide. i recommend reading through it very carefully multiple times. it may help to print it out.

You should go through the guide, it'll tell you everything you need to submit. For spousal sponsorship, there is no income requirement, though it may be an issue if the sponsor receives government assistance, such as welfare.

sorry employment insurance?
No, I don't think that counts. In my case, I got my husband (sponsor) to get a letter of employment from his boss, stating his income. I think that was it, but you should still read through the guide first, then come back and ask any questions you may still have.

I don't know what EI is.
EI doesn't count. that is a fund you pay into for future needs.
