Hi,
Could you please help me with the below:

My husband is in Canada on OWP(Manager) in Toronto. He has applied for an extension under PNP(Provincial Nominee) category as he dint get his AOR yet (PR application submitted in Nov '14 under PNP category). He is expecting to get his extension mostly by this week. After he gets his WP, can my husband itself

1) Apply for an OWP for me from Canada?(I am currently in India)
2) What will be the processing time for my WP if he applies from canada online?
3) What would be the better option - Myself coming to canada on visitor and then applying for OWP or my husband applying for my OWP and me coming to canada after I get it?

Please advice.

Thanks in advance!

HI

My suggestion to apply for OWP and not Visitor. your spouse seems in skill A. so should be easy for OWP.

within this week I will apply for my wife an OWP. i have collected all requirements and i want to apply online. do your best to compress your online attachments and don't exceed 4 MB.

Is your wife too in India and are u applying for an OWP for her from Canada? Just wanna check if its the same case as mine :)

If so, what is the processing time for her OWP? I see in the CIC site that application processing for outside canada is 3-4 months and inside canada is 15 days to one month.
What time is applicable for this- the first or the second?

Basically I already have my visitor visa. But this is going to expire on 30 April 2015. I planned to visit canada in Feb and then apply for OWP from there. However, since my husband's OWP was expiring in April 2015, I postponed my plans to visit after he gets his WP extension(under Provincial Nominee- Ontario category), which he submitted on Jan 30 2015 and is yet to arrive. He actually submitted our(for both of us) PR (under PNP-O) in Nov 2014 and yet to receive our AOR and hence submitted his WP extension under PNP category.

We were not aware that he can submit for my OWP too along with this WP extension.

I request you to advice on the below:
1) After he gets his WP, should i come to canada on visitor visa(which will expire on 30 april) and then apply for OWP?
2) Come to canada on visitor visa, extend my visitor visa and then apply for OWP?
3) Me staying in India itself. My husband shall apply for OWP from canada-online. Myself visiting canada after I get the OWP ? (What will be the processing time in this case?)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi
My case is something more similar to your case. Please suggest on what is best approach.

I have my dependent visa stamped and it is valid till June 2016.I'm a software engineer in India and got leave for only 1 month.
My husband is also software engineer working in Ontario Province for GE.
Could anyone please suggest the better approach of the below.

1. Go to Canada on dependent visa ,and get a OWP and then look for a job.
2. Apply for OWP from India itself.

Could you please suggest with the processing time in both the cases.
The constraint here is the time.I have only one month of leave.

Or I even heard that we can apply for open work permit once we land in Toronto airport itself. And if we do so,processing time is less and we can get open work permit more faster. I'm not sure of the information. Can that be the case ?

Please suggest.
