Hi there,

I need someone's advise on this please.

I am a foreign worker here, I want to apply for my Spouse Open Work Permit. I am skilled worker here in Alberta,Canada.

Can anyone advise me, if a wife is a housewife, can she be eligible to apply for spouse open work permit?

Will highly appreciate your advises.

Thank you

Yes she can based on your skilled worker status in Canada.

Thank you for your feedback.
Even though she is unemployed (housewife), she can still be eligible.
Well! But the fact is that I have already applied for her and she got rejected.

Her rejection reason was :
1. Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
2. Purpose of Trip
3. Current Employment status

Appreciate your response.

Could anyone please advise me on this.
It have been more than a year, I am away from my wife, I really need some advise on it please. Hoping someone's advise will help me to get my wife here.

Thank you

You should reapply and address these concerns by stating that your spouse is entitled to an OWP based on your current status in Canada. Are you sure you applied for OWP as the reasons for declining seem to be more in line for TRV applicants.

I successfully applied for my spouse OWP and she too is a homemaker. We too met with rejection on the first attempt but were successful in the second attempt.
