Spouse open work permit with 8 months marriage certificate

Hello, I was accepted for masters. I submitted for study permit for me and spouse open work permit for my husband at the same time. We have an 8-month marriage certificate. Now I noticed that 12 months of marriage is required to sponsor a spouse. Whether or not there is a problem with our 8 month marriage, your answers are very important for us !
