Hi,

I am from India. My wife got study permit approval for January 2016 intake.

We have a 18 month old child. Now me and my child would like to apply for visa to accompany my wife in Canada.

I came across open work permit option for the spouse of an international student.

If anyone got such open work permit or going to apply for it, or in the same situation as me, please let me know.

It would be great if someone explain the process and documents required.

Also please let me know the possibility of getting open work permit and TRV for my child. And what are the factors that can strengthen up my application.

Hi Friend,

I saw your post and want to reply on this ,acually we both are in a same boat .

My wife got a Study permit in Sept-2015 intake i applied for my visa but got refusals saying that my financials are not sufficiant .

Thanks for your Reply and Sorry for my late reply.

I've just sent u a private message. Please check and ping me asap.

What i can suggest you in this case is

You can apply for a TRV (Temp resident visa) valid for six months.

Else you can apply for a OWP (Open work permit)

1st option is fast in processing but really not easy to get.
2nd option takes 1 month if you process from India VFs.

Very Important point : Home ties with your country: But in both the cases you have to satisfy the case officer that you will be coming back same how you have mentioned in ur study permit for your wife.

As you mentioned that you have a child and you both will be applying together so for you its really difficult to prove that you will coming back.

Your wife got her study permit because she was leaving her family back in India.

What u can suggest you that show some property ,indian bank accounts, family living in india etc

This is a very strong point of refusals.

Financial Status : You should have full amount of liquid cash available in your account for your wife's study in canada+ Livinibg expense for your wife in Canada till she is there + your livibg expence .

So if you can prove all this point then you may apply .

Anyways welcome to this battle and i pray that you get your visa soon.

Best of Luck.

Regards,
Raj

Hello Everyone,

I need your help. I sent my work permit for extensions and it is still in process. My question is that can I travel to Pakistan while my application for work permit is in process and once i get my work permit can I apply for the TRV from Pakistan?
As i will already have my work permit, will I get my TRV from Pakistan easily?

I have some personal issues due to which I have to visit my family.

Experienced people please give me some advice.

Really thankful.

FOR THOSE WHO NEED HELP IN FILING SPOUSE OPEN WORK PERMIT

Hi everyone,
Greetings,

I have seen so many of you guyz are struggling to find correct information regarding the application of your spouse work permit (For full time international students) but not getting the correct information,

I applied for around 24 applicants for same visa, 18 already approved, only 1 got rejected so far.

Let me help you out with that.
I am a full time international student in Canada, came here in Sep. 2016 intake. I applied for my spouse in Oct 2016 for SOWP and got her visa in 20 days only. She joined me here in early Nov. 2016. 8)
;D
There are certain mistakes you guyz are making while filling this visa, resulting in refusal of your application. I will try to cover all these mistakes and also will help you with correct process and documentation.
Common mistakes made by us are:
1. Over whelming the application by attaching unnecessary documents.
2. Providing unsatisfactory explanation in Cover letter.
3. Weak demonstration of ties in home country.
4. Improper documentation.
5. Improper formatting and poor writing.

Coming to next section, what should we do to avoid these mistakes and file a proper visa application.

Although documents vary by application to application, but some of the docs are same and can be listed as:
For Applicant: MOST IMPORTANT : COVER LETTER, and
1. Passport
2. Medical (if applying on pre medical basis, however you can apply on post medical basis)
3. Highest degree of education.
4. Marriage pictures
5. Employment experience letters (if any)
6. Funds in Savings (only have to show if your spouse took any Loan while applying for study visa)

For Spouse (Already in Canada on Student visa)
1. Visa must be valid for at least 6 months from date of application.
2. College ID, Offer Letter from college, Study Permit, Student Visa, Passport
3. Savings if doing any part time job.

These are the only documents legally required to file this visa. However, some more docs may be needed in some special cases.

If you still have any doubt, or need help in filing visa, feel free to shoot me a mail on aryarahulyadav007@gmail.com

All the best for your visa applications.
