Hello, I have a confusion regarding the extension of my wife’s spouse open work permit extension.
So the scenario is, i have applied for PGWP and by considering the current processing time i might get my PGWP after the end of August. However my wife’s open work permit will expire on 31st of August along with my study permit.
So the question is, can i apply for my wife’s SOWP extension without my work permit? And if yes then how?
If I can not then what are the other ways?
I have all other things ready for wife’s SOWP Extension.
Thanks,

Hi, Yes you can apply together if you haven't applied together then apply asap and give your application number and attach a document of your PGWP application. Otherwise, you guys will wait for a year.

No

To get a spouse OWP, the PGWP applicant/holder needs to have employment (even temporary, part-time) in a NOC 0, A or B occupation, submit an application with three pay stubs

The spouse will need to stop working until the pa gets a job as described

Spouses or common-law partners of open work permit holders other than BOWP
If the principal foreign national is the holder of an open work permit, except for an open permit issued under LMIA exemption category C41/C42, (for example, a post-graduation work permit or a working holiday work permit) and they are working in an NOC 0, A or B occupation, the spouse or common-law partner may apply for a spousal open work permit.
