Hello, wonderful people.
After our sponsorship application was returned twice, we applied to extend my wife's stay in Canada so she could stay while we applied for the third time. After sending the application for a Visitor Record and extension, we decided that the wife would go back home, and then we send our application under the Outside Canada category. She left, and after two weeks, her visitor record was issued with an extension until the end of next year. Below is how I understand this:
  1. The visitor record (extension) is currently invalid since she has already left.
  2. We don't need to do anything regarding the issued visitor record since it's no longer valid.
  3. My wife now has a submitted PR application under the Family Class (Spouse Outside Canada). The fact she was issued a visitor record won't affect her PR application in any way or form.
Please advise on the accuracy of the above statements and let me know if I need to do anything regarding the issued visitor record.

Thank you.

I'm almost sure what I stated above is correct. It will be more assuring if any of the members confirm. I want to do everything I can so the application won't get returned for the third time because I need to do something about the issued visitor's record. Thank you all.

If your wife initially got a multiple (visitor visa) that visa will still be valid (as per the expiry date on it), and she can still visit Canada again through that visa, however the visitor extension record is no longer valid as the Applicant is already left Canada, but you can still keep it for your records should there be any explanation required in the future or at the port of entry!

Did you advise IRCC that your wife had left Canada and you want to withdraw the application? If not I would send a webform to IRCC clarifying that your wife has left Canada and her current address so there is no confusion.
