My husband got his PR and works in Canada. But he came to India for our marriage and got stuck here due to his mother's illness. We got married 7 months back and want to have a trip to Canada as our honeymoon. I am planning visit there on TRV for a vacation.

How to make my case strong enough to convince the authorities that I am not going to overstay on my TRV, so that I can get the visitor visa.

What is your net worth and how much funds can you show? How long are you going?

Is your husband in Canada? Have you applied for spousal sponsorship? To get a visitor visa, you need:
  • Travel history- UK, US, NZ, AUS
  • Homes ties - you don’t have family ties so you need to show job with approved leave, investments, business to return to, property investments, loans etc.
  • Funds - 9k is not a lot for such a long visit.
Your visit is too long. VO will know you will file for sponsorship if you land in Canada. So show your job with leave for 2-3 weeks.

Your net worth is your funds, investments and property. Future income is not included. Funds is just one factor for a permit. 9k is not enough for such a long visit and doesn’t show strong ties to return. See my post above.

All you can do is attempt to get a TRV. Given your situation TRV will be hard to obtain since it will be very unlikely that you intend on traveling to Canada for your honeymoon and will return home. Would have a plan B which would be having your husband sponsor you from Canada while you remain in India.

Looking at previous posts due to your current post. I hope your husband‘s employer was aware that he was outside Canada for over 6 months. That has implications when it comes to how a business pays their employees. He also had to notify CRA that he was outside Canada for so long and ask them to determine whether he was a tax resident or not. In terms of his healthcare coverage. He likely has not met the residency requirements and needs to reapply for a new health card. A valid health card doesn’t mean you qualify for provincial healthcare. You need to have a valid health card and meet the residency requirement to qualify for healthcare in that province.
