Hi there.
I am a professional from India.
My spouse is a Canadian citizen and currently resides and work in the US from past three years.
We intend to apply for my Canadian PR based on his citizenship. However, we came to know, as he neither resides nor work in Canada anymore, he will not be able to apply for this.
Does anyone of here faced/ are facing similar situation?
It would be great if anyone could share what are the ways out in this situation.

Canadian citizens can sponsor their spouses even if they are outside Canada.

However, you will need to show that you plan to move to Canada (both of you) once you get PR. If you cannot show that, or have no intention to move to Canada, then you will be denied.

Do u have any idea on what documents do they require for this purpose? or how do they assess such documents ?
Also, do they want the outland spouse to shift immediately (as in along with me or within a week or so) with the main applicant (that is me in this case) or do they give a time period for that ?

Things like job searches for new jobs in Canada or secured job, resignation from current employer, purchase/rental/ search for a property to live in when you move to Canada, etc. Would guess that CIC is going to be strict about showing that you will move back to Canada if your husband (and you) have been working in the US. If you have purchased a house that will also cause concern.
