Spousal work permit for my wife

Sorry I know that there's already a thread on this topic but I couldn't find relevant information on it, so I post this question here. I'm a grad student and I want to bring my wife on open work permit. She doesn't need TRV by the way.

So when I sign in the application page (for my wife), answer all the questionaires, and go to the documents upload page, they ask for

1) application form
2) family relations form
3) medical check
4) proof of relationship
5) passport and photo

But are they not supposed to also ask for my study permit since that's why she can get open work permit? I have a feeling that they are thinking we are physically coming TOGETHER in which case I will physically have the study permit with me so there's no need to upload it beforehand. This is not what we want because I am already in Canada and she will be coming on her own. Does anyone have any idea on why they DON'T ask for my study permit? Thanks!

are you applying online or by paper. if online they will have a section for mandatory documents ad a section for supporting documents. upload a copy of your study permit and letter from school stating that you are a full time student in the supporting documents section.

if applying by paper, add a copy of the permit anyways and proof that you are actually in school taking courses.

Hi, thanks for reply. I'm applying online. By a section for suppporting documents do u mean 'letter of explanation' slot? Because that's the only non mandatory slot I can see.

yes. you can upload it there. merge a pdf document containing your study permit, letter from your school and maybe add a letter stating why you want your spouse to be with you in Canada.
