Hello,

looking for some guidance. I have received an Invitation to Apply and am the principal applicabt. Mine and my husband’s work permits expire in November. I know I can apply for a bridging work permit as the principal applicant however, I am wondering how my husband can apply for an open work permit through me while waiting for our PR decision. All of this would be simple if I had a job. I stopped working back in March due to having no status as my work permit extension got refused. My work permit is based my my husbands’s PGWP. I finally received my work permit last week, however, I am due to give birth any day now and am going on maternity leave. So in short my question is, without me having a job, can my husband extend his work permit based on my bridging work permit and if not, what solutions do we have? Do I just have to get a job and not take maternity?
Thanks

You need to be working for your spouse to get a WP.
