My brother got married to a girl in Alberta. They applied for their visa in June 2009. My bro worls in Kuwait but is a Indian national. All his paperwork medical, police clearnace ( from both countries - kuwait, India ) have been submitted. But he has not recd any response as yet. Its March 2010. He has a number he uses to check his app status online and all it says is " under processing".

Someone mentioned that since the CA embassy in kuwait closed a few yrs ago, all the visas are processed at the Abu dhabi - where they work only 10hrs a week! Is that true? I hope not.

Is there a anything he can do to see whats going on? If not, how long does he have to wait more?

Any suggestions/advioce is greatly appreciate.

Thanks. RK

yes it seems that Kuwait applications are processed thru abu dhabi... the timelines out of that office are far from the greatest, but also far from the worst.... (seems your brother is falling within reasonable timelines still)

he can request CAPIS notes (which take 6-8weeks) to see what's been done and possibly contact his MP, but since it's he's still under the 50% point, doubt there's a lot that really can be done... i suggest he waits until he falls more in the 16-18m time frame to have a compelling case...

sadly, this process is not a quick one for some :(

btw... if he doesn't get thru in the next couple months, he should expect his medicals to expire (they are only valid 1yr)... they will need to be redone, which adds time to the process :(

(and by MP previous, i meant his spouses' MP)
