Hi I am a Candaian PR holder and recently got married in India. My wife is in India and I'd like to bring her here. I am also planning to file citizenship.
Please help me in determining a right way of doing it. I have two things in mind:-

1) Sponsor her using the traditional way of filing an application and waiting for 15 months(as of Jan2015) for her to get here.
OR
2) I apply for citizenship and mention that I am married in the application.(current processing time is 2 years) <-----Will this method automatically make the immigration officials process my wife's citizenship as well?

Please let me know which way is a wise way. Also please tell me if there is a lot faster way to sponsor?

Thanks a ton

1) Yes. Note that it probably won't take 15 months - probably quite a bit less.
2) No - not an option. This won't make immigration officials process your wife's citizenship as well. She needs to become a PR first and then qualify for citizenship on her own. She cannot derive citizenship from you.

You have to sponsor her the traditional way. She cannot become a citizen at the same time you do. You must say you are married on the citizenship application, however, but this will not speed up her sponsorship.
Make sure your application to sponsor and her application to immigrate are complete, and include as much evidence the relationship is genuine as possible. This will help ensure they don't ask for an interview (it is not a guarantee of no interview, but it helps): if there is no interview, the PR sponsorship process can be much quicker than the posted times.
