Spousal Visa : Getting married right now or Wait.. Please advice

Hello All,

I applied under Experiance Class and have recieved my Passport request last week. I will be sending my passport in a day or so. My fiance just came to Canada this week as she has a visitor Visa till 31st Dec 2015. She will be going back in July. We are planning to get married in December 2015 back home in India.

What options do I have so once we get married she comes with me to Canada.

What If I do court marriage here in Canada once I Cross the border and become a Permanent Resident?

How long does the spousal visa takes if I apply for her visa after december?

What are the chances she can get a visitor visa renewed (expiring 31st dec 2015)?

Please advice. I will be very thankful for any help

You could get married shortly after landing in Canada, and then you could apply to sponsor her right away. Do not get married before you land - if you do, you have to add her to your own PR application, which will delay things.

However, since you are planning a big wedding in India in December, I would just wait until then to sponsor her. She has a TRV, so can visit you. She can apply to have this extended, or she can go home in July as planned. If she fulfills the requirement of the TRV the first time and leaves when she is supposed to, it does make it easier to get a new TRV. However, with a husband in Canada, she may need more proof she intends to return to India to get a second TRV.

Personally I'd say get the whole process started now.
