We just got married and starting to gather documents for our spousal visa application. Could you give us tips about what docs to prepare and also do i print out the photos in 3r size or do i copy paste them on docs and print out? Thanks.

Follow the Spousal Sponsorship Checklist.........submit the forms and documents as requested in the checklist.

You may use the Sponsor Spouse Guide

Forms.........Sponsoring your spouse, partner or dependent child

Prefer you print the photos...........According to the checklist...........
Photos of your wedding, customary celebrations, engagement, and/or outings. Provide a maximum of 20 photographs to support your relationship (taken at different times and places).

Review the required documents and ensure you correctly fill the forms and provide the supporting documents as required in checklist to avoid any delays.......if you are not sure, ask folks in this forum for clarification and help...........the process is slow, IRRC promised most will be completed within 12 months, could take less or more.........so the earlier you start the better.........and knowing the process is slow will help reduce your waiting stress.......Good Luck.

my husband is in Canada. he has made letters to me as your wife, I have papers in process, 3 days ago I got 'permanent residence application status' * desicion made *, now I want to know how long they want me to ask my passport to give the visa for permanent resident
When you say...."Decision Made"....i guess you mean for the Principal Applicant PR application and not the Sponsor Eligibility..........if the Decision Made you got is for the PA PR application........the IRCC VO will send you a message requesting for your passport (PPR)......how long or how soon you get the PPR varies and depends on the VO......but am sure not too long you will get PPR........relax.......its a wait game.

if the Decision Made you got is for the Sponsor Eligibility......you should keep in mind the process is slow and may take up to 12 months to complete from the date you received acknowledgement of receipt (AOR1) from IRCC.

When did you apply ?

Thanks a lot! We are waiting for our marriage certificate so we can start filling out forms. I need to change my family name in my passport so I have to attend a guidance counseling first at CFO. It's a long process but we are willing to go through it to be together. We would love to hear more advice. Thanks again.
