I just want to inquire regarding spousal visa application of how long do we need to wait to receive our PR visa. CIC received our application last Oct. 3, 2013. As i checked the status of our application on CIC visa application it says there that we need to wait for 14 months processing time, does it really take that long when my husband already paid the whole amount on our application? according to them when we pay the whole amount ahead of time our application will be much faster, but until now we do not hear anything from them...can anyone answer me with my inquiry? i will appreciate it a lot. Best regards to everybody who are also in the same boat as mine. God Bless us all.

Sometimes it can be shorter (that is if you're one of the lucky ones) but the 14 month listed under the CIC website is based on the 80% of the application processed within the year. Paying the application fee + RRPF ahead of time doesn't guarantee that the process will be faster. But if you haven't paid it at the onset of the application your processing time will likely increase by a month. Manila VO doesn't send out AORs and correspondences for the duration of the process other than PPRs or if they will ask for additional documents. So, from the time that you receive an SA, it will be a long, excruciating silence from the Manila VO. But, don't fret. The July-August 2013 applicants are now receiving PPRs and a couple of September-October and just learned that 2 November applicants got PPR just yesterday. So, we are not too far behind. No reason to worry just yet, not until your application goes way past the 14 month mark. :)

Hi dollinexile,
Thank you for giving me some insight on this matter, i truly appreciate it...it's so wonderful to join in this forum that many members here are helping each other understand what's going on with our application coz sometimes it's so frustrating of not knowing anything about how long do we need to wait....and checking the application status on CIC seems nothing coz every time we checked it, it still looks the same...nothings change still on in process and so on....well, i'm sure and hoping that our turn is coming....we just need to have a lot of faith and patience.....and of course constant prayer....God Bless us all!

You're welcome. I also have received the same treatment from the other forum members so after months of lurking the forum and learning a lot of things, I try to help out whenever I can. :) So, your PR status now shows "IN PROCESS"? Now that's a good sign! Some don't get an eCAS update not until their 10th-11th month in the process. And some, don't get an update at all and go straight to their PPR. I am a December applicant and I know I still have a long way to go but I try to stay positive every single day.. Even more now, that some of the November applications are getting PPRs too. If you want, you can alway drop by the Manila thread to stay updated and meet some of the members too. They can share their insights and experiences to you. Just dont hesitate to ask. :) God Bless.

Thank you so very much again dollinexilefor helping me with all this... Our app has been in the in process status ever since we received our confirmation last Oct.3 2013 and every time i checked our status it still look the same since the first time i checked it out... but then as you were explaining to me that they do have different way of posting on our status and you just can't tell whats going on with our applications. but with all the members in this forum we at least had some ideas of what was going on with our app. members here are so helpful especially to newbies like me. :) we will just continue on praying for the fast process of our PPR....and that we may have it very soon...God Bless us all! and thanks for sharing it with me.
