Spousal Spornship Online Application Submission

Hi All,

A bit of confusion hoping someone can help clear:

On the spousal sponsorship checklist it asks us to mail the application package to CPC in mississuaga for inland sponsorship. However, when I read the instructions online it says that the principal applicant must submit these documents online through the portal. Which one is it? Do we need to mail it to CPC or submit it online or both?

As of late last month, ALL spousal sponsorship application have to be submitted online. This also means that, unlike before, an applicant cannot include an Open Work Permit (OWP) application at the same time as the sponsorship application; applicant can only submit the OWP application after receiving AOR for the sponsorship application. In theory, AOR could be received quicker than had the application been submitted by mail/courier...where it would likely sit for days in their mailroon before even being noticed. LOL!
