hello,
one of my friends wife sponsored her husband here. It seems that everything has went well. On his e-case status it says that the decision has been made and the visa officer has contacted him. He sent them his passport and hasn't received anything since. His concern is that his medical is expiring in next couple of weeks, will this delay his process by 6 months? how does this work?

usually they will extend the validity while it's still in process ( but not always). if not, they'll request a new one. Not sure about delays though.

I have gone through the same situation, I got PPR2 when my med was expired. I sent my PP to the VO and after 3 weeks I ve got remed request, what the hell??? But this is how CIC surprises you.

I've known a few people who had things like that. It must be because more than one person handles the files. So one might not know what the other did or what messages were sent. It's all weird. I know of one they said her certificate was about to expire and she hadn't landed or something like that and she had already landed and been processed. I don't understand it. I really wish I was a fly on the wall some days.

That is disgusting. For the 1st time I am got this much frustrated, CIC should behave an consider us human with equal rights. You can imagine what an immigrants has to do while leaving his/her home county by finishing Degrees, resigning from job, finish tasks and assignments and exams, selling property and house holds, buying tickets, shopping etc etc etc... And such surprises shock you and disturb all the plannings.

I agree. I applied outland to Ottawa in January. I received my application back in February ( exactly one month later) with three signatures missing. So my error. By that time there had been updates so they received my application March 11th. April goes by, nothing. Ok not worried. May goes by , getting a little upset then June, still nothing finally called them July 16th and they said I was not in the system, just my name and to resubmit. So I did, after re-printing 3 more papers (two of them were the ones that were the original problem) since they were updated. So it was resent. When I got home I checked my email and I had received my SA and my eCAS showed my application was received March 11th!!! And back then, Missassauga was not taking inland applications. So somehow, it took them 4 months to issue me SA for an outland application for a US citizen. With not so much as an apology or an explanation. So I'm not happy. I don't want to cause a stink or be mean, as it's against my nature, but something went seriously wrong and I want to know why. I don't want people to be fired or anything like that, I just want to know why and to get this over with. I want to move on with my life so I don't have to keep explaining to the CBSA that 'yes I did apply, honest and no I have no idea when it will be done'. Yes I understand there are more folks than me who applied and yes you do wait but that was very wrong. I have things I would like to do and can't without my PR. UGH. Sorry I ranted again but this makes me so mad. My apologies it's not your fault.
