Hi everyone,
I am planning to sponsor my husband but had some worries. I am a Canadian PR and landed in Nov 2017. I moved fully to Canada in May 2018 with our son. I got married to my husband in 2013.
He was included in my PR application but as a non accompanying as when I started the application (2016) he wasn’t ready to move, was in a great track at work and I didn’t want to wait.
Fast forward three years later and a lot of things have changed and he’s ready to make the move. Staying apart has been really difficult for us. After I arrived last year, we got pregnant. So I have not really made any income in the last year but I can show we have savings (about 40k USD). I plan to start looking for work as soon as I have the baby in May. He also arrived this week in Canada through a tourist visa so we will be applying for an OWP as well as filing an inland sponsorship.
So my questions are as follows:
1. How good are our chances with no current income? How best can I explain I can support him?
2. He might need to travel out of Canada for business reasons after the sponsorship application has been submitted. Can he easily get out and into the country with his visitor visa ?
3. In the last 11 months I have been in Canada, he has been here for a total of about 6 months and travel twice back to our home country. I recently added him in the lease and we are opening a new joint account together but apart from that there’s no prove he’s living in Canada because he wasnt. He can’t get a drivers license on a visitors visa. We have lived together until the move last year. We have our leases, bills from our home country, vacations taken, of course prooof of marriage, message etc. would proof from my home country be enough?
Thanks for taking time to read this. Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated. We were thinking of the inland sponsorship so he could have a chance to start working and us building our lives back up. Should we consider Outland?
