Here is my story and question

i m a permanent resident of canada since 2012 . Recently i applied for pr renewal but unfortunately it has gone for secndary review . I have also applied to sponsor my wife who is in pakistan . i have got the file number for the spousal application .

my question is .. can i apply spouse visit visa so that she can come for 2 - 3 months , what are the chances ? will it effect her spousal application ? i would have gone and met her but cant travel coz application has gone for secondary review.

You can certainly apply - however the chances of approval are low. If it's refused, this will not harm her PR application.

If your PR card renewal has gone to secondary review - CIC will likely put your wife's application on hold at some point until they complete the processing of your application.
