Spousal Sponsorship UK (IMM3901/5562) "Your Travels" - Whose Country?

Hi all, a bit of confusion here and wondering what others have put for this:

In the Country-Specific Guide for UK, which includes IMM 3901E and IMM 5562, there's a question posed as such:

'List all trips you, and if applicable, your family members have taken outside your country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since
your 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc. If you or your family member did not
travel outside of your country during this period, check "did not travel".'

This is part of a form the Principal Applicant must fill out; I'm writing from the perspective of the Sponsor. The above question is worded in a way that seems like it's asking me (as the PA's common-law parter) how many times I've travelled outside of the PA's country - in fact, it says it twice ("your country" as opposed to the expected "their country.") Obviously, I'm Canadian and have spent most of my life outside of the UK. Surely they want to know of my travels outside of my home country, Canada, rather than the UK; but the way they've asked the question is really throwing me off, as it seems they deliberately are referring to "your country", as in the PA's country.

Please share similar concerns and/or solutions; I'd like to see what people came up with for this. It's one of the very last things to do before we can send this baby away.

Thanks!

hi, i think you're confused. for spousal sponsorship application purposes, the sponsor is NOT considered a "family member" or "spouse", the sponsor is simply the sponsor. The forms are general forms used for multiple immigration streams, therefore the "family members" and "spouse" being referenced in the applicant forms refer to family members or spouses that are being sponsored along side the principle applicant (ie: a couple applying for pr together through another stream, an entire family being sponsored through parental sponsorship, dependant children included in a spousal sponsorship, etc.)

For spousal sponsorship, the sponsor ONLY needs to fill out the sponsor paperwork in the sponsor package, and does not need to fill out any of the applicant paperwork in the applicant package. They are ONLY looking for the travel history of the principal applicant (and any dependents listed in the application applying for pr as well)- not the sponsor.

Excellent, thank you. I am a bit confused. I do know that this particular form falls under the Principal Applicant's (my partner's) part of the application, but we are doing the entire thing alongside each other - always written from the correct perspective, of course. What I'm to understand, then, is that we don't need IMM 5562 at all as it does not apply to Spousal Sponsorship? Thanks.

It only has to be filled out by an applicant who is applying through the visa office in Paris. (For spousal sponsorships.)
