Hi there,

I'm a EU citizen and my partner is Canadian. We're both living in BC right now, although I'm on a visitors' visa until September. From what I read at the CIC website, my partner needs to be approved as an sponsor before I can submit my application. Let's assume he's eligible and he's given the green light. Do we have to submit the full application straight away or can we wait for a couple of months while we get all the paperwork that they ask for?

Can't find any info on the CIC site so any help will be appreciated.

You want to send his paperwork AND your paperwork together, so that it's not sent back for being incomplete. Once he gets approved, the file gets transferred, and you are then reviewed.

Yes, sponsor's application and principal applicant's application for PR must be sent together. Think of them as two parts of the same application.
