Spousal Sponsorship-Open Work Visa questions U.S to Canada

The wonderful people of CIC have informed me that while my spousal sponsorship visa is processing that I can submit an application for an open work visa and I just have a couple of questions.

I would fill out the Change Conditions And Extend Your Stay In Canada As A Worker forms and write open work visa at the top, then just send it in where I submitted my sponsorship app, right?

I wouldn't be required to have a letter from my future employee because I can basically choose where to work and how long I can work there for myself?

I would recieve regualar T4s for taxes?

Would I recieve a sin card or have to use my social security card from the states?

If anyone has information on this topic please let me know.
Thank you very much :-*

Hi Cristy

You've answered most of your own questions :). Write something like "Open work permit - Inland Spousal Sponsorship file number xxxxxxxx", as you want to make sure they match it up with your sponsorship app.

No employer letter or job needed.

Yes, you get T4s.

Once you get the OWP, you go into Service Canada and get a temporary SIN. You must get the SIN before you start working. You cannot use your US card.

Good luck :)
