Hi All,
I'm completing the IM0008 form for my spousal sponsorship application (I am the principle applicant, my wife is a Canadian Permanent Resident) and have a question regarding Question 10 in the Personal Details section.
From March 2015 through July 2016 I was working in Canada under a Work Permit. My work permit is still valid through 2017, however I am taking a leave of absence since July, through the end of the year. I am continuing to live in Canada with my wife, and am not working anywhere else (as my work permit is valid for only one position). I want to answer the question correctly, but am unsure which would be the most appropriate. Should I say that I am living in Canada as a Visitor as of July 2016 (through some future date?) or as a Worker since March 2015? Related, if I put it as a worker, should I put the expiry date of my Work Permit as the "To" date indicating expected duration of my stay in Canada? It will not allow me to put a date in the past.
I apologize if that is unclear, this is my first question here, I would appreciate any help you guys can offer.
Thank you!
Travis
