Hello All,

I am a Permanent Resident, got married on January 22nd, 2014 in India. I wanted to bring my Wife as fast as I can. Below are the two ways I think I can apply:
A. Sponsor her (outside canada) and wait till she gets approved.
B. Apply for Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and get her into the country for limited period (less than 6 months), while her sponsorship application is in process.

Can anyone please tell me if I can apply for both above cases A and B. I really appreciate any responses. I was told by an agency that a PR holder cannot apply for TRV for his/her spouse.

Thanks,
Arravv

Once you get married, the spouse would have a harder time in getting a TRV on account that there will be more ties to Canada than to India. There is no harm in trying to apply for TRV but be aware of the odds in getting TRV.

I applied for TRV before and it was denied as they believe I have greater ties in Canada than Philippines, (but you can still try if you want) I am from Philippines and my husband is Canadian Citizen now we're applying for Spousal Sponsorship we sent it last June 3 and he got approved for sponsoring me last July 30 so we just need to wait for the next steps
