Spousal Sponsorhip, after marriage, does passports should have "MARRIED" status?

So we got married few months back, and now I will be sponsoring my wife (outland) for PR. We just got our official marriage certificates but I had a concern.

Do we need to update our passports to change the status from "SINGLE" to "MARRIED" or we can apply for her PR even with the old passports with the status written as "SINGLE"?

What country? Foreign travel passport or some other document?

Canada doesn't have such a line in passport. So generally not required unless it's considered obligatory or standard in home country.

Each country has its own passport's rule. Check that with your country authorities.
