me and my girl friend started living together in december 2014. I put her on my company health plan and took care of all her expenses.
now when i filed my taxes for 2015, I had us listed as common laws as per my accountant. As on dec 31, 2014 we were living in the same house as husband and wife.

we got married in Feb 2015 as on valentines day she told me that she was pregnant.

now i am going to sponsor her for PR. since I wrote our status as common laws in 2014 taxes filed in march 2015 just on the basis of our living together as husband and wife in december 2014, will it cause any complications to our sponsorship case.

please do reply

You just started living together in December 2014, and had not lived together at anytime before that? If that's the case you were definitely NOT common-law for 2014. Common-law to the CRA requires 12 months of cohabitation or having a child together. If you claimed common-law for your 2014 taxes after living together only 1 month, you've just committed tax fraud.

It will have no effect on your PR application though. As you're married now, you'll simply apply for her PR as a married couple. It's the CRA you need to worry about.
