Hi Everyone,

I'm Canadian PR and applying my spouse's visa.

Thank you for helping me out previously and your reply to my following questions in advance.

1 For Form IMM008, on last page, there is a blank space which is asking (firstname, lastname).
a. Is it for PA to be filled in?
b. The name should be in format - firstname - Given name and lastname - surname. Is that correct?

2. For Form 5476, there are 2 boxes in the declaration section (section-D), there are 2 blocks.
a. One for PA's signature -- my spouse ?
b. Second for signature of spouse for sponsorship application - is it for me?

3. For Form 5533, I have the following queries:
a. How to write N/A next to check box ? Should I write with pen after taking print out ? Any particular location for writing that?
b. For PCC, there are 2 checkboxes and answer is same - India - Is that correct ?

Queries related to proofs / documents

1. For social media chats - whatsapp - Is it ok to put 6-9 screenshots (mobile screen size) on one page and have 6-7 pages of conversation this way? How many pages should I have?

2. I have boarding passes of last year & entry / exit stamp in passport when I went to India from Canada. So should I take photocopy of them on one page and write details behind the page?

3. Financial Support doc - While I was in India, I was transferring fund from my account to my spouse's account so how to show that? any particular format ?

4. Letters from friends - any particular format? Please provide any info

5. Receipts of any events related to marriage - I have only few ones which are completely in English. Can I provide anything else as such proof ?

Thank you so much for your reply in advance.

1. imm0008 is for PA so yes the signature is of the PA. Format for name is FN , LN so yes it is your given name followed by surname (should match your name in passport and all other official documents)
2. imm5476 is required only when you want to appoint the spouse (sponsor) as the representative. If you and your spouse are okay, I wouldn't recommend filling this form and use one email id for all communications with CIC. Create an online account and add the application details in it and both of you can track the status using the same login so this form IMHO is avoidable. Thats how i tracked my application status
3.a. Yes you can write with a pen after printing out the forms
3.b. It will depend on the countries the PA has lived after 18 years. If the PA hasn't travelled outside the country then it will be India (currently residing country)

Proofs / documents
1. There is nothing wrong in sending screenshots of your whatsapp messages, just try to ensure messages are readable and are all in english.
2. Yes, I printed soft copy of my tickets only (did not have the boarding passes) and copy of passport entry and exit stamps. So a xerox copy should work fine - but please ensure it is clear and not smudged.
3. Bank statements, highlight the transfers made to your spouse's account with a highlighter and use a pencil to write any explanation on top of the page
4. I did not provide any letter - this is required mainly if you are in a live-in relation / common law partner. For a married relationship this isn't a mandatory requirement.
4. Your marriage invitation / emails sent to friends inviting them for your wedding etc. Ideally you should provide your marriage certificate and print some photos of your wedding / engagement / reception ceremony and few recent pics and share. Not sure what you mean by receipts here.

Hello, I have an inquiry about the COPR, I haven't yet gotten to that stage but;
1. Is it expected in the Outland Spousal sponsorship processing?
2. I know inland applicants do receive it via email. Is it sent via email or by post mail for Outland applicants to?
3. I am a bit worried because I have relocated twice already during the process. Is it a must to keep updating on the address? I feel updates would only keep them delaying a file. But I might be wrong.

Thanks in advance and would appreciate it a lot to get a response. So I take precautions before the time is due.

Thank you so much for detailed reply. I have few queries for the answers that you provided.

1. I'm not able to write in that blank. I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC. This is the only area where I am not able to write. Might there be any issue?

Proofs/documents
2 Should that be color print or black and white ? and do I need to write anything ?
5 I do have my original wedding invitation - should I send that along with invitation card holder ? or just invitation cards? I do have marriage certificate, all pics starting from first date, pre wed, ceremonies, post wed and recent ones. By receipts, I meant that any booking receipt of wedding place / honeymoon place. Is that required?

Below are the additional questions that I found while I was checking the forms again:

1. For Form 5669, below 2 questions:
a. It asks for educational history in terms of years - primary school, secondary school, college .. now as per indian system, how many years can there be? Do we need to start from Grade 1 till 7 for primary then 8 to 12 as secondary and then college years. or do we need to start from junior KG till 7 as primary then 8 to 12 as secondary and so on ? or any other calculation ?

b. My spouse worked as a freelancer for several years. Will that create any issue if I write that under personal history - job related thing ?

2. For Form 008, education detail - number of years in education - I think this number will be same as 5669 form ( above point - a) - but how this needs to be counted ?

3. Form 1344, at bottom of form, there are 3 boxes.. 1 for PA and 1 for sponsor but there's third box (middle one in the form ) that says - Signature of sponsor's spouse or common law partner ( if co-signer) - does PA have to sign in this box as well ?

4. Form 5532, I have 2 questions
a. For my current job & address, for historical data, can I leave "to" as blank as it doesn't have any end date at the moment ?
b. For sponsor's level of education, I have completed my master's (post graduation - M.Tech from University in India) - which option should I select from college / university and post graduate studies - and how many years ? If I select, college / university - it will be 4 ( bachelor ) + 2 (master) = 6 and if I select post graduate studies - it will be 2 years

I'm really sorry for so many questions and thanks again..!

5. Form 5562, PA's travel history will be there. But for spouse's history ( I'm sponsor as well) - do I have to fill that? Few people say that as you're sponsor and PR already, you don't have to fill this section at all. Is that right? What happens to my history before I became PR ?

yes, somewhat. If you can reply, that would be helpful.

And don't be sorry
my reply inline in your questions buddy. Good luck.
1. I'm not able to write in that blank. I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC. This is the only area where I am not able to write. Might there be any issue?

Its fine you can write it with a Blue ink pen after forms are printed.

Proofs/documents
2 Should that be color print or black and white ? and do I need to write anything ?

black & white should suffice. Get it notarized. Any copy of a document you are providing in your application, please get it notarized from a notary public in India / Canada accordingly.

Copy of invitation cards are fine. IF you have spare invitations from your wedding, send one with your application. Nothing wrong in it. It is just to provide more confidence to the case processing officer that your case is genuine. Send
* Marriage Certificate
* 20+ photos of wedding, pre-wedding ceremony, post - wedding ceremony and any recent pictures of you and family
* No need of receipts etc. as long as you provide a valid marriage certificate (Notarized)

Yes, start from grade 1. Your categorization of 1-7 -> Primary etc. is right.

b. My spouse worked as a freelancer for several years. Will that create any issue if I write that under personal history - job related thing ?

No. You can declare it if you have proof of her freelancing work like contracts, payment slips.

2. For Form 008, education detail - number of years in education - I think this number will be same as 5669 form ( above point - a) - but how this needs to be counted ?
Count from Grade 1 - it is 12 years of school + college education
3. Form 1344, at bottom of form, there are 3 boxes.. 1 for PA and 1 for sponsor but there's third box (middle one in the form ) that says - Signature of sponsor's spouse or common law partner ( if co-signer) - does PA have to sign in this box as well ?
No this will not apply for you as you are sponsoring your own wife. This is required when you and your wife jointly sponsor someone else.
4. Form 5532, I have 2 questions

a. Yes.
b. It will depend on how your education was assessed as part of your PR application. Use the same assessment provided then.

I'm really sorry for so many questions and thanks again..!

5562 is for the PA and not for Sponsor. As part of your PR application you would have already provided your travel history. So this form will not apply for you.
