Spousal passport will expire 9 months before the visa come is it ok? Or need to renew his passport?

I have a question for you regarding for spousal sponsorship. My Husband passport will expired on October 2019, we are still waiting for decision made and passport request. Is it ok that He’s passport will be expired 9 months before the expiration? Are they going to give him a visa even though 9 months before the expiration ? Are they still accepting it? Or they will request my husband to renew his passport? Thanks in Advance

not sure when you submitted your application or when your application will be approved......but ensure the passport is not expired when IRCC request the applicant travel passport to issue PR visa otherwise the PR visa will not be issued........the PR visa expiration date will be the earlier of the travel passport expiration date and the anniversary of the principal applicant medical exam anniversary.
