Hi All,

I am in Canada on Visitors Visa and as per the cic rules my 6 months stay will get over by 10th Apr 2017.

In the meantime , I applied for open work permit in Jan 2017 basis my spouse is working in Toronto in NOC B category and got refusal as we didn't submitted his employment letter.

Earlier, in the month of Mar 2017 I have reapplied for the 2nd time for open work permit with the employment letter of my spouse and I am waiting to hear back from CIC about the status(36 days processing time).

Can someone please help me about my options in case(worst case scenario) my Open work permit gets rejected by 10 or 11th April, what are options to stay in Canada ?

Asking this because because my stay period will get over by then Sad.

Thanks

If you are approved for the work permit - then you're good.

If you are refused before your allowed visit ends, then apply to extend your visitor status.

If you are refused after your allowed visit ends, then you'll need to apply to restore your status back to a visitor.

Hi,

I am an international student, inquiring about SOWP for my wife. My student visa expires on June 6, 2019, after which I will be applying for Post-graduation work permit (which will be allotted for 3 yrs since I did a post-graduate program for 20 months). Question is, given the duration left for my visa (3 months), will be cause a hindrance to my wife's SOWP visa approval? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
