Hi,
On my wife's dependent, I received an open work permit last year and at that time my wife was on a student visa. I was on spouse dependent open work permit which expired on 28-July-2019.

Before expiration, I applied for an extension that got rejected(received rejection yesterday) as I didn't provide my wife's employment letter and paystubs(my wife is on PGWP).

I want to re-apply for an open work permit extension but my work permit is expired and I don't know which application I need to do.

Please help me.
Thank you

Presuming that your wife works in a position with a skill level of 0, A or B (to make you eligible to apply) and the refusal letter states that you are welcome to reapply, you will need to submit a new application for a work permit and restoration of status. On the work permit application form you must also check off restoration of status where it asks for what you are applying for. There is an additional $200 processing fee on top of the work permit processing fee.

Thank you for your quick response. Yes my wife works in NOC A category.

Can you please also tell me which form I have to fill? form imm5710e is not validating because the expiry date is from July.

Yes it is IMM5710. If you are talking about Q7 you will need to change the status to other and write "out of status" in the comment box. Change the from date to the date of the refusal letter, the to date will need to be greater than today so you can put tomorrows date.

Also assume you know you can’t work. You actually didn’t qualify to apply for an extension of your previous work permit either. You needed to apply for a new SOWP with pgwp and 3 pay stubs.
