Spousal Open Work Permit - Internal Company Transfer

Hi,

I am based in Nahamas. My spouse is taking internal transfer to Toronto. Her company is applying for her work permit (lmia exempt) and my visitor visa. They have advised that I should apply for my own open work permit.

Can you please advise when can I apply for my open work permit? Is it possible for me to apply for spousal open work permit at the same time my wife's company is applying for her work permit?

Currently the waiting time in the nearest office in Jamaica is 7 weeks for work permit processing and inside Canada is upto 150 days. I want to take advantage of the waiting time since I am in Bahamas and apply for my spousal open work permit at the earliest so that when I reach canada with my wife, I can also start looking for jobs.

I applied close work permit,open work permit for my wife and study permit for my kids from Trinidad and our all application were approved.timeline is below.
Applied on 10th March 2022
Biometrics 14th March
ADR. 16th May
ADR submission. 27th May
Passport request. 15th June
