Spousal open work permit extension

Hello Lovely people,

Hope this message finds you all in good health.
I have a long list of queries so please bear with me. My situation is something like this:

I have an open work permit. My wife is on her study permit but she is completing her post graduate at the end of may 2020 and then she plans to apply for PGWP. But my visa expires along with her on 30th of july.

She does not have a job- type O,A or B yet. But i am currently working in job type-B. I have been working in the same company for almost 2 years and i am permanent now but i got job type-B position on this company last november (2019)and its only been like 7 months that i worked in this position. Can i be able to extend my work permit if my employer provides me a letter of employment or an employment contract in this case?
Also, Would i be eligible for Canadian work experience program or any other PR programs provided that i have my ielts, ECE, police report and other required documents? If not how can i extend my open work permit? Please guide me through this. I would be very grateful for any information on the subject. Thank you and Stay safe.

Your wife needs to have a NOC A, B or 0 job in order for you to extend your open work permit. You cannot extend your open work permit based on your own job. Alternatively, your employer would need to get an approved LMIA so that you can switch over to a closed work permit.

Once you have a year of Canadian work experience, you will qualify to submit your profile under CEC / Express Entry. Whether you are selected will depend on how many points you have.

You will need to research the PNP programs to determine if you qualify for any of these. I would suggest you start by researching the PNP program for the province where you are currently living.

The LMIA and WP is a long one so would be applying now if you are going down that route.
