Spousal Open work permit eligibility

Hi,

I am on a closed work permit currently which is expiring on December 1 and my spouse is having open work permit valid till November 11. Now my employer is sending me back due to COVID. So I am planning to get a study visa for my wife and get my spousal open work permit on that basis. Would this impact the study permit as our visas are expiring soon? Or wold it be making the our case weaker?
Also would it be advisable to apply for the open work permit together with my spouse's study permit? Or should I wait for her study permit to come first and then apply for my open work permit?

  • Is the program relevant to her previous education and work experience?
  • How old is she/why is she going back to school now?
  • How will a Canadian degree advance her career back in your home country?
  • Do you have enough funds available to pay for her first year + C$10,000 in living expenses?

Yes all the above criteria are being fulfilled. And I would mention the same in the explanation letter for study permit.
