Sponsorship Withdraw for Visitor Visa Application for Sibling

Hi Everyone.

I would like to ask that my friend sponsor his sibling for visitor visa application and its got approved. He gave signed invitation letter in his visitor visa application. Now due to family issues my friend wants to withdraw/cancel his sponsorship undertaking from that visitor visa application. Can he do that or not? His brother visa has already been approved. My friend does not want any refund of application. He just want to cancel/Withdraw his sponsorship/invitation letter.

Please guide about this situation.

There is no such thing as sponsorship for a TRV. He cannot withdraw his invitation letter. His sibling has a TRV and is free to visit Canada.

but in invitation letter my friend states that he will be responsible for his expenses like food, accomodation. If my friend does not want to provide all of these. What will be the consequence to him?

No consequences. It is just an invitation letter, not a binding document. Sibling can come to Canada whenever he/she wants.

ok thanks. But in case his brother did any negative things like drink n drive/ or any crime then who will be responsible?? my friend as a sponsor will get responsible or his brother? pls guide

Your friend did not sponsor the TRV. There is no such thing as sponsorship, only for PR. If the brother commits crimes, then that is his issue. He has a TRV and is free to come to Canada.

one last thing. If my friend's brother got sick and admit in hospital for any treatment then who will be responsible for the hospital expenses?? Sponsor or Principal Applicant??

There is no sponsor. The person with the TRV is responsible for all costs. If going to the hospital, person will pay via credit card when he is admitted.

You friend can actually send a wenform to IRCC indicating that he no longer wishes to invite his sibling. If the sibling remains in Canada or claims asylum it could make it more difficult for him to invite other people in the future and have them get approved.
