sponsorship with Implied status

Hello All ,

I want to ask u if I can apply for inland sponsorship from inside Canada with Implied status ? ... Icame to canada with visitor visa and got married with my candian wife from 1 month , my visior status is gonna end after 1 week . we wanted to apply for sponsorship inside canada but we were waiting for the marriage certificate .. I got call from service ontario today saying that they released my rushed marriage certificate and i gonna receive it with the beginning of next week . i already applied for extending my stay as visitor today .. please advice of its ok to apply for the sponsorship with implied status or i will have to wait till Immigration office approve extending my visitor stay then apply ?

So long as your extension is approved, then applying while your status is implied is fine. However, if your application is rejected or returned, then your implied status is terminated and the inland PR application will also be denied/returned due to a lack of status.

As it's over 2 years wait for the inland PR application, you might as well wait and get it done right.

Actually if the application is rejected or returned, the OP can resubmit a new PR application while being out of status in Canada.
