I am a PR here in Canada and already applied for my wife's sponsorship and it is still in process.
The embassy in Manila, Philippines officially started processing the papers last April 3 and already asked for her passport last week of April but still no decision from them.

I know it's six months wait but when does the six month count start? The time the canadian embassy in Mississauga processed it or the time the Manila embassy started processing it, April 3?

Now that they have my wife's passport since April, will they hold it until six months wait period? It doesn't make sense for them to hold it that long as a passport is one's major ID as a citizen of a country, it also limits my wife for any travel in the immediate future.

Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

Sad to say Yes! Actually, based on my experienced my partner got approved to get me last December 19, 2008 and it was forward to Manila Office last January 7,2009. They sent me letter that they need my passport and other documents which I gave them last March but until now I don't have feedback received. Everytime I check the CIC Website it's still IN PROCESS.

As of now, it's been 6 months already since they got my papers, I able to send them letter to follow-up my application which I did today.

Hope you can have yours too.

Goodluck for both of us.
